Podcast Guest - Breaking Generational Cycles

I recently had a very intimate conversation with my childhood friend  - Whitney Geathers on her Podcast – A Mom with a Mic. The topic of the Podcast was “Breaking Generational Cycles.” Just a backstory, Whitney’s late Mother and my Mother were best friends. We are both Jamaican, so that cultural reference is a big part of our identity. In this episode, we unpacked just the ups and downs of our childhood and how we were parented. As Women and Mother’s, it’s essential to identify what helped you grow into your own and what hindered you. I think so many times; parents put their hopes and aspirations on children along with their fears and disappointments. I certainly don’t plan to do that with my children. It was such a great and honest conversation; I enjoyed every minute of it. After this conversation, the biggest thing I took away is that my childhood, the good and the bad, made me the Wife and Mother I want to be. That was so powerful! Thank you so much, Whit, for inviting me to be on your Podcast!
